The First Luminous Mystery: The Obedience of Jesus in Nazareth
Let us contemplate in this mystery how Jesus lived with Mary and Joseph in Nazareth and was obedient to them. May we cultivate the virtue of obedience so that we may live a fruitful life united with Christ.
The Second Luminous Mystery: The Baptism of the Lord
Let us contemplate in this mystery how our Lord Jesus Christ submitted himself totally to the Father’s will and was baptized by John to fulfill the plan of salvation. May we be more open to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit and thus submit ourselves to the Father’s will which is love and mercy itself.
The Third Luminous Mystery: The Wedding at Cana
Let us contemplate in this mystery how our Lord performed his first public miracle at His mother’s request. May we with great confidence go to Mary and listen to her wise words as she leads us to her Son and says “Do whatever he tells you.”
The Fourth Luminous Mystery: The Proclamation of the Kingdom
Let us contemplate in this mystery how our Lord in his earthly ministry proclaimed the coming of the Kingdom of God. May we with contrite hearts repent of our sins and say Jesus I trust in you.
The Fifth Luminous Mystery: The Transfiguration
Let us contemplate in this mystery how Jesus for a shining moment disclosed to those Apostles, his divine glory, thus confirming Peter’s confession that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. May we have the spiritual courage to persevere in the faith and in all holiness so as to one day behold God’s eternal Glory in Paradise.
The Sixth Luminous Mystery: The Institution of the Eucharist
Let us contemplate in this mystery how our Lord, on the day before he was to suffer, took bread and wine and gave it to his disciples as his body and blood, the holy eucharist, the source and summit of the Christian life. May we who receive Him do so more reverently, adore Him more lovingly, and allow Him to renew us, so that we may renew the world.
