Chaplet of Deliverance

How to Pray the Chaplet of Deliverance

(Can prayed on ordinary Rosary beads)

Step 1 — On the Crucifix:

+In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

I, (your name), who through the tender mercy of the Eternal Father was privileged to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus and thus to share in the dignity of his divine Sonship, wish now in the presence of this same loving Father, his only-begotten Son, and the Spirit of love and truth, to renew in all sincerity the promises I solemnly made at the time of my holy Baptism:

I, therefore, now do once again renounce Satan;

I renounce all his works;

I renounce all his empty promises.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Having been buried with Christ unto death and raised up with him unto a new life, I promise to live righteously for him who died for love of me, serving God in all that I do, faithfully in the Holy Catholic Church.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, I dare to say:

Our Father…

Step 2 — On the First Large Bead:

August Queen of Heaven, sovereign Lady of the Angels, who did receive from the beginning, the mission and the power, to crush the serpent’s head, we beseech you to send your holy angels, that under your command and by your power, they may pursue the evil spirits, encounter them on every side, resist their bold attacks, and drive them hence into the abyss of woe. Amen.

Step 3 — On the Three Small Beads:

Hail Mary…

Hail Mary…

Hail Mary…

Step 4 — On the next Large Bead:

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Step 5 — On the 10 Small Beads:

God arises; His enemies are scattered and those who hate Him flee before Him.

As smoke is driven away, so are they driven; as wax melts before the fire, so the wicked perish at the presence of God.

Step 6 — After the 10 Small Beads before the next decade:

Behold the Cross of the Lord, flee bands of enemies

The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the offspring of David hath conquered.

Repeat Steps 4-6 for each decade.

Conclusion:

I arise today

Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,

Through belief in the Threeness,

Through confession of the Oneness

of the Creator of creation.

I arise today through God's strength to pilot me, God's might to uphold me, God's wisdom to guide me, God's eye to see before me, God's ear to hear me, God's word to speak for me, God's hand to guard me, God's way to lie before me, God's shield to protect me, God's host to secure me –

against snares of devils, against temptations and vices, against inclinations of nature, against everyone who shall wish me ill, afar and anear, alone or in a multitude.

Christ, be with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ where I lie, Christ where I sit, Christ where I arise, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.

I arise today

Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,

Through belief in the Threeness,

Through confession of the Oneness

of the Creator of creation.

Salvation is of the Lord. Salvation is of the Lord. Salvation is of the Christ. May your salvation, O Lord, be ever with us.

Amen.

+In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
