An Act of Contrition: My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. HYMN Come, Holy Spirit, Creator blest, and in our souls take up Thy rest; come with Thy grace and heavenly aid to fill the hearts which Thou hast made.
O comforter, to Thee we cry, O heavenly gift of God Most High, O fount of life and fire of love, and sweet anointing from above.
Thou in Thy sevenfold gifts are known; Thou, finger of God's hand we own; Thou, promise of the Father, Thou Who dost the tongue with power imbue.

Let us Pray: O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
FIRST MYSTERY: Jesus is conceived by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary.

“The holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God.”
Let us pray, through the intercession of Mary, that the Holy Spirit may assist us in imitating the virtues of Jesus Christ who is the pattern of every virtue, in order that we may be conformed to the image of the Son of God.

SECOND MYSTERY: The Holy Spirit rests upon Jesus at his baptism.
Scripture: Matthew 3:16 (ESVCE)
“And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him;” ESVCE
Let us keep the promises we made at our Baptism, and appreciate the precious gift of sanctifying grace we received by the Holy Spirit. Through the same Spirit, let us exercise our faith, hope, and love, living as children of God, so that hereafter we may receive our eternal inheritance in heaven.

THIRD MYSTERY: The Holy Spirit leads Jesus into the desert.
Scripture: Luke 4:1-2 (NABRE)
“Filled with the holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert for forty days, to be tempted by the devil.” NABRE
Let us be ever thankful for the gifts of the Holy Spirit given to us in Confirmation, for the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, of counsel and fortitude, of knowledge and piety, and of the fear of the Lord. Let us faithfully obey our Divine Guide, so that we may act bravely in all the perils of this life and in all temptations, becoming ever stronger and perfected in Jesus Christ.

FOURTH MYSTERY: The Holy Spirit in the Church.
Scripture: Acts 2:2-4,11c (NABRE) “And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim, of the mighty acts of God.”
Let us give thanks to God for His Holy Church, the pillar and foundation of truth, which is governed by the Holy Spirit. Let us hear and follow the successors of the Apostles, holding fast to the truth in unity.

FIFTH MYSTERY: The Holy Spirit in the souls of the righteous.
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:19; 1 Thessalonians 5:19 NABRE Do you not know that your body is a temple of the holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God… Do not quench the Spirit.
Let us purify our minds and bodies, being ever mindful of the Holy Spirit within us. Listening to His Divine inspirations, let us bring forth good fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

CREED
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
