Almighty and eternal God, through Jesus Christ you have revealed your glory to all nations. Preserve, we beseech you, the works of your mercy, that your Church, being spread throughout the world, may continue with steadfast faith, hope, and love in the confession of your name.
Sanctify and endow with heavenly gifts, Pope Francis, the vicar of Jesus Christ, who governs the Universal Church by your grace. Bless too our own Bishop and all other bishops, priests, and deacons of the Church, especially those who exercise holy ministry and conduct Your people in the ways of salvation.
O God of might, wisdom, and justice, through whom authority is rightly administered, laws are enacted, and judgments decreed, assist with your Holy Spirit of counsel and fortitude the Executive Leader of our Country, that their administration may be conducted in righteousness, and be eminently useful to your people over whom they preside.
Let the light of your divine wisdom direct the deliberations of the Legislature, and shine forth in all the proceedings and laws framed for our rule and government, so that they may tend to the preservation of peace, the promotion of national happiness, the increase of industry, sobriety, and useful knowledge, and may perpetuate to us the blessings of equal liberty.
We pray also for the Judiciary and all other officers who are appointed to guard our political welfare, that they may be enabled, by Your powerful protection, to discharge the duties of their respective stations with honesty and ability.
We recommend likewise to Your boundless mercy all our fellow citizens. Bless us, unite us, preserve us in peace, and after enjoying the joys of this life, admit us into the eternal joys of paradise. Amen.
